Welcome Autumn

September marks the end of Summer and the beginning of Autumn. As we soak up these last days of sunshine and, if we're lucky, sneak in another trip to the beach or to the mountains, take a minute or two to bask in the afterglow of summer and reflect on the memories you've made so far!

Wardrobe Style - Scarf as Halter Top

One of my favorite ways to wear a square scarf is to wear it as a halter top. You can wear it as is during summer or under a jacket during cooler months. I especially love this particular style at this time of year when temperatures can fluctuate wildly. Wear a jacket and a scarf or wrap to start the day, remove layers as required. This style gives you complete coverage, if you know what I mean -- no gapping!

I'm using a printed chiffon shawl that measures 56 x 40 inches.

- Fold the scarf into a triangle.

If you have longer torso and desire more coverage, you may use a larger scarf.

Try this variation if you have a scarf ring:

- Slip the two corners of your scarf through the ring.

- Pull out enough to tie a secure knot at the back of your neck.

- Tie the bottom of the scarf around your waist or midriff depending on the look you want to achieve.

Transitioning Seasons

As seasons change, it's a great time to review your wardrobe and weed out items you never wore or that are worn out. If the unworn items are in excellent condition you may consider reselling them via a website such as PoshMark, ThredUp or eBay, or pass them on to Goodwill or a local shelter in your area. If you find worn out clothes, consider mending them or repurposing them in some way.

Enjoy Every Moment

But don’t over-book yourself, go to the places you love and make one more memory. Reflect on summer 2020, what it's meant to you. Look forward to the next season, but make sure to count your blessings and enjoy what you have right now.

I'd love to hear what was your favorite summer activity this year. Please share your favorite memories in the comments.

Mine was a trip to Mt. Shasta in July. I went with a new friend and we went swimming in the Lake, it was so tranquil and refreshing!
